How does the meal plan work?
The meal plan works by swiping your meal card at any of our locations. Meal plans begin on Sundays and end on Saturday evening.  You may not carry meals from one week to another (it is use it or lose it).

If I do not live in a residence hall, is there a meal plan available to me?
If you are a non-resident, you may wish to be on the five-meal plan, but any meal plan can be assigned to any non-resident. You may also wish to add money to your account and do a declining balance.

Can I change my meal plan?
You can change your meal plan prior to the add/drop date as long as you are not a freshman in Saint Joseph Hall. All first year students in Saint Joseph hall are required to be on the 15-meal plan.

Can I bring a friend to the Tiger Cafe or Cub Cafe?
Yes, you can use your Declining Balance or cash to pay for their meal.

Can I use one of my meals to pay for my friend’s meal?
Yes, you can take a friend to dinner or lunch using one of your block meals.

Does Declining Balance expire at the end of each semester?
Declining Balance carries over between the fall and spring semester if you remain on a meal plan. Declining Balance expires at the end of each academic year.

May I add more Declining Balance to my account?
You can add Declining Balance in $100 increments to your account. These carry over from semester to semester.

What happens to Declining Balance that I have added?
Remaining (non-meal) Declining Balance will transfer from semester to semester and from academic year to academic year.

Do you offer student jobs?
Part-time positions are available at the Tiger Cafe Hall and in our catering department. Just stop by and ask for an application or call 267-341-3263. We offer flexible schedules and competitive wages.

How do I find out my card balance?
Just present your card to the dining service cashier at any of our facilities with your purchase. Your updated balance is available at the time of each transaction.

I lost my card! What now?
It is the responsibility of the cardholder to report lost or stolen cards to Public Safety (215-895-1117) at once. Lost cards can be replaced for a $15 fee.
