Dr. Marina Boykova Inducted as Distinguished Fellow in the Nursing Academy of the National Academies of Practice

Dr. Marina Boykova, an associate professor at Holy Family University, was inducted on March 13, 2025 as a Distinguished Fellow in the Nursing Academy of the National Academies of Practice (NAP), a nonprofit organization that promotes interprofessional healthcare collaboration to improve access to and delivery of quality care. This is the highest honor awarded by NAP and recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to their profession.
Boykova’s distinguished career spans multiple countries and includes extensive academic and professional achievements. She has been a faculty member of Holy Family University's School of Nursing and Health Sciences since 2016. She holds degrees and certifications from institutions in Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States, including a doctorate in nursing from the University of Oklahoma. Her expertise in neonatal nursing has made her a global leader in addressing health policy issues related to neonatal mortality.
An advocate for international collaboration in neonatal care, Boykova serves as a board member of the Council of International Neonatal Nurses Inc. She has co-edited neonatal nursing textbooks, including Comprehensive Neonatal Care and Neonatal Nursing Care Handbook, which are widely used in education and clinical practice. With more than 50 publications and numerous international presentations, her contributions to nursing education and policy have had a lasting impact on the field.
Boykova was inducted as a professional member of NAP in 2023. Elevation to Distinguished Fellow status requires nomination by an active NAP member, a rigorous review process by the candidate’s professional academy and approval by the NAP Council. Candidates must demonstrate an exemplary career of 10 or more years, a commitment to interprofessional collaboration and dedication to accessible, affordable health care.
Her induction as a Distinguished Fellow underscores her leadership, scholarship, and influence in the nursing profession. Through her work, she continues to drive progress in neonatal care, improving outcomes for vulnerable populations worldwide.
