Holy Family University Sends Class of 2024 Off with A Joyful Interfaith Prayer Service

Religious leaders from across faiths and communities convened at Holy Family University on May 13 for an Interfaith Prayer Service entitled “Be a Living Prayer” for members of the Class of 2024.

Following a processional that saw the placement of The Holy Bible, Quran, The Vedas, and The Hebrew Bible on an altar, Rabbi Claire Green (Old York Road Temple – Beth Am), Pastor Chuck Blair (New Life Church), Rev. James Walton (All Saints Episcopal Church), Imam Darwish Mustafa (Center City Mosque), Rev. James MacNew, OSFS and Pastor Torre Young (St. John Free Will Baptist Church) shared words, prayers and blessings during the service.  The music of Chosen Too opened and closed the service.

“This Interfaith service is a testament to the rich tapestry of beliefs and traditions that grace our Holy Family University community,” said University President Anne Prisco in welcoming the participants and guests. “In a world often marred by division and discord, we gather here as a united family, seeking solace, strength and inspiration from the Divine. This sacred space transcends denominations and dogmas, inviting us to embrace the shared values that lie at the heart of our diverse faiths. We come together to celebrate the universal truths of love, compassion, justice, and peace that bind us as human beings, regardless of our individual path to enlightenment.”
