50th Anniversary Excellence in Nursing Fund
During the academic year 2023-24, Holy Family University celebrates 50 Years of Excellence in Nursing Education, a milestone marked by programs and events highlighting the historic contributions of our nursing graduates to our region’s healthcare as well as celebrate the vision of nursing education at Holy Family in the 21st century.
For five decades, Holy Family has educated generations of nurses in practice and leadership to advance compassionate care. Holy Family University nursing graduates are found in every major hospital and healthcare institution throughout our region and beyond.
Our highly skilled graduates make Holy Family University synonymous with educational excellence in nursing and the health sciences.
Excellence, innovation, and a commitment to providing scholarships to deserving students have been a hallmark of Holy Family’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences since its founding 50 years ago. This must continue to be the case for the next 50 years and beyond for Holy Family to continue its excellence in nursing education.
To propel the School of Nursing & Health Sciences forward, the 50th Anniversary Excellence in Nursing Fund has been established to fund innovation in programs and technology and to provide scholarships for deserving students.
Innovation in New Programs and Simulation and Clinical Training Labs
Preparing the next generation of nurses in a world of dynamic change and rapid technology advances calls for us to invest in innovative training programs and next-generation technologies. Investments in new programs and curriculum development are essential to providing cutting-edge education that develops nursing professionals who are holistically trained to be leaders and collaborators focused on patient-centered care. In addition to our BSN, MSN, and DNP programs, Holy Family is investing in new programs including a certified nurse assistant (CNA) certificate program.
Investments in new technology and training equipment in Holy Family’s Simulation Labs are especially vital today. Simulation labs help bridge the gap between skills trainers, theory coursework, and clinical rotations. These simulated environments provide real-world nursing practice where students can apply clinical skills in a consequence-free atmosphere well-equipped for collaboration and instruction.
Nursing Scholarships
Holy Family provides scholarships and financial aid to more than 98% of our nursing students. Of note, 40% of our undergraduate students are the first in their families to attend college. Scholarships often make the difference in whether talented students can attend and afford Holy Family’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences. Holy Family alumni can support today’s nursing students through gifts to the 50th Anniversary Excellence in Nursing Fund by specifying scholarships.
