Campus Library Outfitted with International Flags Courtesy of the Office of Global Initiatives

There is a new international feel to the Holy Family University Library thanks to the Office of Global Initiatives. The recent, permanent installation, proposed and organized by Office Executive Director Prince Adnan El Hashemite, coincides with the International Day of Happiness (March 20) and serves to unite the Holy Family community.

Positioned at the center of the building, the flags are visible from both levels of the library as powerfulA large collection of international flags displayed in an HFU building reminders that the University community has much to explore, learn and identify through the various ancestries, cultures, and heritages that make up the University’s population.

“It is within my strategic plans to internationalize our university and exhibit its global side to the world inA large collection of international flags hanging from the ceiling of an HFU building every possible aspect, from academic programs and courses to sponsoring international cultural events and facilitating actual engagement in global affairs,” Prince El-Hashemite said. “These flags not only serve to beautify our learning space but also provide a visual of the range of backgrounds that we celebrate. We also hope that, as we expand the installation, they will evoke a sense of pride and curiosity, and encourage dialogue among our students and staff.”
