Five Holy Family Alumni Earn 2023 Lindback Award
Holy Family’s School of Education has a history of producing some of the region’s finest educators. This year’s 2023 Lindback Award recipients prove this once again with not one but five Lindback Award recipients.
Alumni Michael Biddle '99, Licinio Ferreira M'08, Michele Sorkin Socki M'06, Beth Menasion M'20, and Jennifer Motsney M'09 M'19 were among this year’s 60 honorees.
Michael Biddle, who teaches 4th Grade at General Philip Elementary, noted, “I was shocked about receiving the award, the fact that my peers thought that highly of me is an honor. Kearny is a great school. It takes a whole team to make it work, not one teacher. I have enjoyed my 25 years at Kearny and have never thought about teaching at another school.”
Michele Sorkin who teaches Learning Support Math and Peer Group Connection, a Leadership Program at George Washington High School for grades 9-12 offered, “Receiving the Lindback Award has been a tremendous honor. Since I became a teacher at George Washington High School 20 years ago, I wanted to make a difference in the lives of my students. I am honored to be recognized and will never stop doing what I do. I not only love being a teacher in the classroom but love all the extra programs I run within the building to help shape our students and help them create high school memories. I am so proud to represent GW as a Lindback Award Winner.”
