Holy Family University is proud to announce that Tim Hamill, the University’s athletics director, has been named the 2024 Central Athletic Collegiate Conference Athletic Director of the Year. This prestigious recognition honors Hamill’s outstanding leadership, dedication to student athletes, and deep commitment to the success and growth of Holy Family Athletics.

A Holy Family alumnus, Hamill has been a dedicated member of the University community for nearly 25 years, beginning his journey in 2000 as an undergraduate student-athlete. Since his graduation, he has served in various roles within the Athletics Department, first as a fitness manager and later assisting with multiple sports teams. He became assistant athletic director during the 2018 academic year, and was officially appointed athletic director in May 2019, making him the second-ever individual to hold this role at Holy Family.

“With the uncertain times facing higher education, particularly at private colleges in the Northeast, Tim Hamill has led initiatives which have given new life not only to Holy Family Athletics, but to the entire University,” said CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. “The student-athlete experience is always at the forefront of his work.”

Since taking on the role of athletics director, Hamill has overseen remarkable growth in Holy Family’s athletics program, with the number of student-athletes expanding from 165 to more than 400. Hamill has also led efforts to enhance athletic facilities, including a new fieldhouse set to be completed in late spring.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this recognition, but it is truly a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our student athletes, coaches, senior administration and staff,” said Hamill. “This award is a testament to the support and passion of the entire Holy Family community, and I am proud to continue contributing to the success of our athletics program.”

Under Hamill’s leadership, Holy Family’s athletics program has flourished, with significant achievements both on the field and in the classroom. In 2024, for the third consecutive year, Holy Family University earned an NCAA Division II Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, ranking 15th among more than 300 schools with a remarkable success rate of 92%. Hamill has worked tirelessly to enhance student-athlete experience by promoting academic excellence, fostering a welcoming environment, and driving community engagement through athletics.

“Tim’s leadership has been transformative for Holy Family athletics,” said Dr. Anne Prisco, president of Holy Family University. “This award is a reflection of his dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to the success of our student athletes and the entire athletic and coaching staff. We are proud of everything he has accomplished and look forward to continued growth under his leadership.”
