Preparing our Students for Today’s World
Understanding the economics and demographics of the students we serve — 94% of whom live and work within a 50-mile radius of our campuses — means taking knowledge of today’s job market and shaping academic programs that will best equip our students to succeed in productive and meaningful careers.
Holy Family has been singularly focused on developing programs and services for students in Philadelphia and Bucks County that reinforce the value of higher education in terms of economic mobility not just for our students but also for their families and their future.
With new programs created virtually and in person through strategic partnerships, Holy Family has grown its academic offerings and innovated its curriculum at an accelerated pace:
- Across all schools and programs, every student in every major now has an internship or field experience to better prepare them for the workforce.
- In Fall 2023, we launched a new core curriculum, called BLUEprint, that enables students to build a core based on their passions and their intellectual curiosity and is designed to enhance retention and keep students on track so they’ll graduate on time.
- Recognizing the need for market-driven programs, Holy Family launched new academic programs in Applied Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Esports & Gaming Administration, Supply Chain Management, Professional Sales and Marketing, and Healthcare Administration – all areas in demand in the job market. And new programs are being planned in Communications and Exercise Science.
- The School of Business and Professional Studies has become the School of Business & Technology to better market its new relevant, high demand, technology-infused programs.
- The University has expanded its renowned Second-Degree BSN program by offering a hybrid version to select regions nationwide, and we expanded Radiologic Science with the addition of a bachelor’s degree to meet the ongoing demand for skilled radiologic technicians.
- The School of Education has reignited its Early Childhood Education Pathway Program by offering more in-person and online options to meet students where they are in their journeys toward teacher certification. • Holy Family faculty are conducting intriguing research and initiatives — from the creation of the Philly Venture Hub for entrepreneurs to the launch of our Collegiate Recovery Program — our faculty continue to push boundaries that will not only take the University to new heights but will also provide our students with opportunities for expanded research.
- The University recently expanded its footprint in Bucks County with the addition of a second Newtown campus. The vision for the Newtown West Campus is to become an Innovation Center with programs to support Entrepreneurship, Life Sciences and Cybersecurity.
