Elizabeth (Beth) Jones PhD. Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the School of Education with demonstrated commitment to community service and academic excellence. It is funded by the colleagues and friends of Dr. Beth Jones to honor her memory and accomplishments. Dr. Jones was an outstanding teacher, scholar, and advisor to hundreds of students over the 11 years she served in the School of Education. Her primary focus was in the Doctor of Education Program. She also contributed greatly by serving on school and university committees. Known for her academic and scholarly excellence, she treated everyone with kindness and respect, consistent with the Mission and Core Values of the University.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
Demonstrate a financial need to assist the recipient with completing the EdD. Program (Need and Program are preferred).
Demonstrate a deeper understanding of the Mission and Core Values of the University through actions, activities, communication with others, community service, and intentionality.
Are set to represent the University community after graduation in the job market in a positive light.
Applicants will be students in the Ed.D. program (preferred), in good academic standing, who will receive the scholarship for one year. They are to initiate the application process using the forms provided on the university advancement website.
Recipients will be recommended by the Faculty of the School of Education.
