Learning Outcomes


The PPES degree will teach students how to:

  • Articulate their own worldview
  • Analyze complex local and global issues
  • Conduct rigorous research and data analysis
  • Inform how to improve the world around them
  • Formulate and test hypotheses
  • Communicate effectively and persuasively
     

Put simply, the PPES degree at Holy Family aims to achieve two outcomes:

  • Create better citizens - fulfilling one of the traditional tenets of liberal education
  • Build a toolkit of professional skills that will prepare graduates for a rapidly changing job market, adaptable for a variety of career tracks - fulfilling the needs of a modern (21st century) education
     

The PPES program requires the completion of:

  • One introductory PPES course
  • Two foundation courses in each of the four PPES disciplines
  • Four interdisciplinary electives
  • Two Statistics and Research Methods courses
  • Internship
  • Capstone
