Radiologic Science, B.S.
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science (BSRS) degree is offered to radiologic technologists certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent based on ARRT Supporting Category requirements. The program incorporates the Associate of Science in Radiologic Science (ASRS) degree program.
Program Overview
Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science graduates possess the knowledge and skills to assume post-primary practice in medical imaging and management. Post-primary specialization is available in Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MR), and Vascular Interventional (VI).
Program Details
Program Overview
Radiographers operate x-ray equipment to create images of tissues, bones, organs, and blood vessels within the human body. The images created by the radiographer are then interpreted and a diagnosis is made by a radiologist, a physician who specializes in interpreting and diagnosing radiographic images.
Clinical courses, begin in the first semester, complement classroom learning, and help students prepare for entry-level practice. Clinical experience includes rotations in community hospitals, medical centers, and healthcare facilities, allowing students to develop clinical skills in a wide variety of healthcare settings that meet the needs of diverse populations.
In addition to classroom and/or online instruction, your track may benefit from our on-campus energized x-ray lab that includes a state-of-the-art imaging system and quality assurance testing equipment.
Program options for the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science degree (for ARRT-certified radiographers or equivalent only):
- General Track
- Post-Primary Certification Tracks (also available as Certificate programs)
- Vascular Interventional (VI)
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance (MR)
Clinical education courses require approved clinical affiliate rotations.
Career Paths
Graduates who complete the General track may assume roles in supervision and management. Post-primary radiologic science practitioners, supervisors, and managers are in demand throughout the radiologic science profession.
