Holy Family University to Launch Nurse Aide Training Program

The Holy Family University School of Nursing & Health Sciences is excited to announce the Pennsylvania Board of Education approval for its newly created Nurse Aide Training Program.  The program is designed to meet a growing area and statewide need for certified nursing aides in hospitals, nursing homes, private care, and the expanding field of home healthcare.  Completion of the six-week program, with a passing grade on the national certification examination, will provide an immediate pathway to an in-demand career as a certified nurse aide (CNA).

Holy Family University Names Dr. Bindhu Alappat Vice President for Academic Affairs

Holy Family University President Anne Prisco, Ph.D. announced the appointment of Bindhu Alappat, Ph.D. as the University’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. A seasoned academic administrator with over 15 years of experience in Catholic higher education as both a chemistry professor and an administrator, Dr. Alappat will assume her new leadership role on August 1, 2024. 

Holy Family University Breaks Ground on New Athletic Fieldhouse

Holy Family University held a ceremonial groundbreaking for its new Athletic Fieldhouse on July 11, 2024, as construction is set to begin on the University’s Northeast Philadelphia campus. The project is slated for completion in December 2024.

Nigerian-born Stella Eke-Okoro Reaps Fruits of Righteousness through HFU School of Nursing

Stella Eke-Okoro was destined to become a nurse. 

Maybe it is because her very name, “Stella,” is associated with the guiding light that leads individuals toward their true path and purpose in life.  Maybe it is because since her childhood, with four siblings in Nigeria, to her arrival in America via a Visa lottery in 1996, a part of her always knew that the passion for the profession that she had in her soul would someday come to fruition.
