School of Education Adjunct Lecturers/Field Supervisors/ECE Mentors

The School of Education seeks applications from potential adjunct lecturers for courses and field supervision related to the PDE PK4 and PK12 SPED Certificates.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities for Adjunct Lecturers include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching of courses in their assigned disciplines.
  • Maintaining academic excellence in their classrooms.
  • Providing grades and feedback to students in a timely fashion.
  • Using appropriate technology, including Canvas.

Note: Courses needing instructors are scheduled to meet face-to-face during the day or evenings on weekdays. We are not looking for instructors for completely online classes at this time.

Qualifications

Hold an earned master's degree in appropriate area(s).

Responsibilities for Field Supervisors include, but are not limited to:

  • Field Supervisors must be able to observe and evaluate undergraduate and graduate  students on site in educational settings and complete evaluations of each observation.
  • Required to monitor and grade all assignments related to the field based course work.

Qualifications

  • Hold an earned master's degree. 
  • Current PA teacher certification is preferred.

Responsibilities for ECE Mentors include, but are not limited to:

  • Support ECE teachers seeking teacher certification through both on-site visits and  off-site support through conferencing. 
  • Provide feedback and help with goal-setting for their mentees. 

Qualifications

  • Hold current PA PK4 or early childhood  teacher certification
  • Experience in ECE for the ECE Mentorship positions.

Qualified candidates will be experienced teachers and/or administrators with a solid command of instructional best practices and a strong commitment to mentoring.

For field supervision and mentorship, eligible candidates must be available on weekdays for school-site supervisory visits.

Have experience using an LMS (ie. Canvas) as well have experience with Google docs, sheets, forms and be able to navigate an online system for grading.
