Position Summary
This position will be responsible for maintenance of University campuses and buildings including Northeast Philadelphia and Newtown. The employee must understand and embrace the mission of Catholic Higher Education and must commit to the mission, goals and objectives of Holy Family University in word and deed.

Essential Functions
- Skilled in basic HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, fire detection and suppression systems, electrical, painting, masonry, landscape, office renovations and equipment repair
- Perform regular visual inspections of buildings and grounds and document/communicate findings
- Implement corrective action for work orders/service requests and maintenance projects to include all aspects of assigned tasks from materials gathering and ordering through fit and finish work
- Comfortable and able to work on ladders, roofs, lifts, and other elevated structures
- Routine maintenance work related to interior and exterior painting of university spaces and equipment
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance including lock-out tag-out and other safety procedures/protocols
- Remodeling work to demo/install walls, ceilings, floors, as specified to include cleaning of area
- Must be willing to work a rotating schedule if needed – Standard shift is 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
- Ability to commit to a 24 hour on-call rotation schedule and promptly respond to emergency situations when notified
- Work with outsourced vendors and contractors as needed
- Monitor inventory of supplies/spare parts needed for departmental operations
- Supplemental assistance with snow/ice removal and maintenance of grounds and common areas to include; Servicing trash/recycling receptacles and picking up debris on and around the direct vicinity of campus to support existing contracted services when needed
- Supplemental furniture/office/equipment moves as needed

Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency degree required
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a college/university/commercial maintenance environment
- Intermediate experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC preferred
- Ability to successfully pass background screening requirements

- Must utilize own hand tools during the course of the work day
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in various indoor and outdoor settings with frequent potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- The employee must have sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more without assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear, stoop, bend, crouch, climb and crawl
Certification/Licensure
Valid driver’s license
Other Important Information
- Moderate risk to hazardous materials with low to moderate risk to blood borne pathogens
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary
